I just read an article in the October issue of Prevention magazine where a lady wrote in asking if there was anything she could do to make "her farts less smelly".

The RD explained how as bacteria in the colon ferment indigestible bits of food, smelly gas results. Sulfur-rich foods, such as broccoli, cauliflower, and beans, and sorbitol produce a particularly pungent odor. But by drinking a half-cup of cranberry juice a day can help cut the smell; it contains phytochemicals that suppress the odor-causing bacteria. Other foods with deodorizing ingredients include yogurt (off limits for us), parsley, and mint leaves.

So, cranberry is safe for us to drink, right? I will try this if it is! I guess you would drink it after the meal?

I've been meaning to post this for a couple of weeks now and I keep forgetting!

Let me know if it works for you. I've not had to deal with smelly gas recently so haven't been able to experiment! LOL But, then again, I do drink cranberry juice often, so maybe that is why?

I just started Miralax, so not sure the cranberry juice can stand up to this gas!

If it goes away from the Miralax, I'll let you know because, unfortunately, smelly gas is common for me!

If anyone else tries this, let us know if it works!

i know some people can't take the acid....i have to watch for high fructose corn syrup. so if your ok with both, it should be fine, i can drink some with something absorbing it at least, like bread or something

...or other additives. Both Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Wild Oats, and many HFS carry a natural, pure juice.

After lunch? Would it last all day? Or not until after dinner when the major gas starts?

I guess I will just have to experiment....after the Miralax settles down a bit. Don't think the juice would help that gas! Only food gas.
