I have been losing weight since I started my IBS diet. I cannot eat any of the foods that I am used to for gaining weight. I know this might sound good for some but I am a 6'4" male that only weighs 155lbs. I have never weighed a lot but ever since I have been eating safe for IBS I have lost even more weight! If any one knows safe foods to eat that will help me or if anyone knows if weight gainer/protein drinks are OK let me know..Thanks A Lot in advance!!!

Welcome to the boards Bri.
I wonder if you were to load up on the potatoes, breads and cakes and loaves etc. that would add some calories. You don't want to add "fat" because that will cause you a flare up. You want calories to gain your weight.
Do you have Heather's books?
Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.

I agree - carbs will help and won't hurt the way fat will. Also, protein powders are OK but make sure you get one that is soy protein and try adding it into a smoothie with some soy milk, banana and honey. The banana will add soluble fiber to make it safe. Also, I recently made a smoothie that way and added 1/2 cup of cornflakes - it was yummy.
