I am planning on getting pregnant soon(hoping) and I was wondering if anyone on here has gone through a pregnancy with ibs before? I'm a little worried about diet and also hormones. I'm wondering if I'm going to feel crapy all throught the pregnancy. Any thoughts??

Looking on the bright side, it's actually pretty common to have less or even no IBS symptoms during pregnancy! C is likely to be a problem in the 3rd trimester, but that's b/c it is for all pg women!
I'm going to work on the IBS & pregnancy sticky post tomorrow -hopefully it'll be ready soon.

hi I'm 17 weeks pregnant and IBS-C...I definitely am able to tolerate many more foods than before, but the C is horrible. I take miralax daily to help with that and try to get in a fiber supplement or more fiber in my diet on days when I can. You are going to feel icky, especially in the beginning, IBS or no IBS, it's just part of being pregnant. YOu have nothing to worry about though, you will be just fine! Good luck to you!

How exciting! I did not have any symptoms of IBS before my first pregnancy. After I delivered the symptoms came 2 months later. I have a friend who has IBS and had it growing up and after having 2 children her symptoms seem to have disappeared. She has been symptom free for over a year! I am crossing my fingers that I will have the same luck and I wish you such luck also. Good Luck and an early congrats!
