Does anyone else take Bentyl?

hey! i was just wondering if anyone else takes Bentyl and if they find it working for them? I've been on it for a year and it works when it wants to. Like I get some relief but not complete. When I was first diagnosed, my doc gave me some other medicine which actually caused my symptoms to worsen. That's when she prescribed me Bentyl. Sometimes I think it's in my head when it works because I want it to so badly, since it does not always work....so yeah...just seeing if there was anyone like me...

Hi Star, Yes, I'm taking Bentyl too right now, and yes it
seems to work once in a while, not nearly enough. I'm hoping
my GI doc will let change again if it continues to be ineffect

The Bentyl worked pretty well for my IBS, but I had to stop taking it due to it's tendency to make me retain urine. That was a huge problem. Within a week of going off of the medicine, my bladder was back to normal.

I take Bentyl. I've been on it this time for about 1 year. I totally agree though that it works only somtimes. I find that it usually never works around my hormonal times of ovulation and my actual period. I'm down to taking 2 a day. One before breakfast and one before lunch. Those are my worst IBS times. I'm ok with dinner for some weird reason  I've been debaing to stop taking it but I feel it does work somewhat so I'm chicken to stop
