I'm brand new to this wonderful website. I don't have IBS but my MIL was just diagnosed after 20 years of chronic diahrrea and asst. other problems, and the more I read, the more I think one of my children has this. I've already gained a lifetime of knowledge here and have bought both books at B&N. I was wondering if there was a list of "red flag" ingredients to look for on food labels. I'm sure it's here but I didn't see a search option for message boards. Anxiously awaiting, Rose

Hi Rose, Welcome to the boards. There is a list of "trigger" foods in Heather's IBS Diet & Recipes section and the search option is down at the bottom of the pages. -Bob

I guess what I was looking for was just a list of label ingredients that you could alphabetize and keep on a card in your purse for grocery shopping rather than whole foods and explanations. This is one for lactose intollerance. It's a list of milk products, milk-type ingredients, and "may" contain milk words to watch for on labels. http://www.lactose.co.uk/lima/hiddenmilk.html I was hoping for something concise like that. I'll just pull the info. off the page you guys recommended here and put it in more of a list form myself. Thanks for the help!
