2 questions:
1. how long does donnatol generally take to kick in?
2. i bought earthy eats brand vegetarian chicken salad at whole foods (and am mady in love with it). it has no nutrition info other than ingredients - i called the number on the label, but no answer. any ideas other than trying them again later? has anyone happened to already call them for this info?
(it really is a tremendously delicious fake chicken salad, to the point that i'm a little obsessed. if you like this sort of thing, i recommend it. it has carrots & celery, but other than that the ingredients look okay.)

Hi Jaime, Donnatol should kick in immediately, it's not a cumulative drug. Also, it does have phenobarbital in it, which is a very strong barbituate narcotic. You should be able to notice that within an hour of taking it. Donnatol works very good on stomach problems, but it's not that great for colon spasms.
I don't know about the fake chicken salad as the nearest Whole Foods is 420 miles south in Chicago. However, next time I'm down there I 'm going to definitely check out this chicken salad. I have been to Whole Foods a couple of times when I've been down there, it's not cheap, but they have great stuff and lots of it. Usually they have tons of free samples too. The one I've been to also has a dining area too. The place is quite impressive. -Bob

Hey, Bob, if you're ever in Madison, WI, there's also a Whole Foods, there. Granted, that's not much if any closer than Chicago from the UP, but I thought I'd let you know. The Woodman's chain also does pretty well by me. (They're mostly in Wisconsin. I know there's one in Appleton and there must be one in Green Bay, too. I'm lucky enough to live in the one place in Illinois that has a Woodman's.)
I was actually at the Whole Foods in Madison earlier this week and was surprised at how much of the same stuff is also at Woodmans. Whole Foods had more psuedocheese and more varieties of non-dairy frozen desserts, but that's about it.

Donnatel has been banned where I am from, they say it is too habit forming!

Jane, Yes. That would be from the Phenobarbitol in it. By itself it is an addictive narcotic that is sold on the street in many major cities. So it's not too surprising that they banned it. I only use Donnatol when I get a herendous attack and am totally nauseous and can't eat, which fortunately hasn't happened to me since April. -Bob

Hi Snorkie, Thanks for the scoop. Madison is a relatively easy drive for me, not much traffic along that route. About 15 years ago I used to go down there just about every month. I was doing some research with guys at UW. Lots to do in the town too. There are a lot of really good restaurants there, not that I can eat in them anymore<laugh>. I'll have to check out this Woodmans store too. Green Bay is just under a four hour drive for me, and I know a bunch of people there too. -Bob
