Hi all you fellow IBS'ers! Just wanted to share a thought with you about your SFS. I'm a C predominant, and got caught out of town for 2 days without enough SFS. I've been using Acacia for about 18 months now, and based on information I learned on this site, thought that I might be able to handle Benefiber as a supplement.
Wellllll....not only did I have to take a lot more of the Benefiber to equal the same amount of Acacia (Acacia is your BEST BUY in an SFS!!) my stomach said NO!!! And I mean NO WAY!!!
Thankfully, when I got home, my new Acacia order was ready and waiting, so I'm back on track now...but I was really surprised at the cramping, gas and bloating the Benefiber gave me!
Lesson learned: Don't substitute cold turkey on your SFS! NOT a good idea!
And Heather, your ACACIA has changed my life! I'll never be without it!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for offering such a high-quality, affordable SFS for all of us!! Thanks so very, very much!!!
