Lactose free ice cream?

Hey everyone  . I just found out I'm lactose intolerent ( a few weeks ago ) and I'm wondering if any of you know about lactose free ice cream. I saw it in the super market today and I would love it if I'd be allowed to eat it .

Hi!
Sorry, but to get stable you'll have to avoid all forms of dairy.  Lactose is one of the reasons to avoid dairy, but not the only reason. If you read the studies and FAQ/diet guidelines that Heather provides, you'll see that dairy is a big trigger for IBSers because of the milk proteins and high fat content. Some of the soy ice creams are yummy and I even like Rice Dream Carob Almond Chip. If you Search on "soy ice cream" (don't use the quotes), Diet Board only, no time limit, you can see which ones people recommend. I agree with an earlier poster: Soy Dream Mocha Fudge rocks! (Warning: The soy and rice ice creams are still high in fat so eat after a good SF meal and not too much at one time. And, sigh, some people report problems with carageenan (sp?) in these ice creams. It doesn't bother me, but you'll have to try and see.)

it's soy delicious is great...i LOVE rocky road....also the brownie one....whole foods has a really good mint chocolate chip soy icecream and it's really low in fat %....it's soy delicious has icecream sandwiches that are really really good...some people like toffutti...but it has hfcs and that makes me sick...I love love love my soy ice cream....lol...i eat way too much of it too....lol
