where do you buy the wildwood stuff? though gristedes is great for tofu and other soy stuff, the one by me doesn't seem to stock any soy yogurt, and food emporium hasn't had a great variety, either. (i do work a block away from a whole foods, but food-shopping at work seems silly.) i tried a brand of plain that i'm forgetting, though it wasn't silk, and it was chalky and too sweet. i've generally found that soy yogurt is too sweet, and much better with fruit and cereal in it. (and i'm normally really ok with soy flavors - plain soymilk, &c.)

I like the Silk Vanilla as well, but only after I have added a little brown sugar to help with the flavor. It makes all the difference IMHO.

You're just going to have to go during lunch! I think they deliver within a certain range, so if you want, you can go pick out your groceries and have them deliver them that evening. I get most of my groceries from www.freshdirect.com , but they don't have everything. They do have Soy Delicious Ice Cream, also known as Amanda's Personal PMS Salvation.

I don't understand the mechanism. (I know we're all supposed to understand all the mechanisms involving our health, but on some of my health issues, I really don't care how things work. I just want to know what to do.)
You can Search on the Diet Board for "thyroid" (no quotes), no time limit, and scan the list for posts by Kandee - she's our resident thyroid expert. I asked my endocrinologist about it after reading what Kandee said and she agrees to some extent; that is, as far as my endo is concerned, I can eat soy as long as it's in moderation. She was definite, though, about soy interfering with the action of synthroid, so I must wait at least an hour after taking my synthroid before I can have soy.
Sorry I can't be more helpful.

thanks... it's the interfering with synthroid that is important to my family. Charlie takes synthroid and I never thought about soy being something he maybe shouldn't have.
I'll look deeper........

Hi, Speaking of Soy Delicious 'ice creams', they now(not exactly sure how new it is) have a 'Creamy Vanilla' flavor that actually has 5 g's of SF per serving. I thought it was a misprint because all other flavors were between 1 and 2 g's. I called the company 'Turtlemountain' and they verifed it was in fact 5 g's per serving. Something to do with the use of chicory roots I think. It tastes absolutely delicious. I saw some other tempting flavors on their website, but unfortunately living out here in the boonies,I can't get them. However the flavors that are available at our local food coop are pretty good. -Bob
