Well, I can't really answer your question about the antispasmodics, because I've never taken them. I would go ahead and start up using the peppermint again - that's a good antispasmodic in and of itself, and I tend to think that herbal remedies are less likely to make C worse than prescriptions (but I could be wrong, I'm not a C'er).
As for the fiber... 2 psyllium capsules a day is NOT much at all. Those capsules typically contain only 1/2 gram of fiber apiece. (Check the packaging to see what yours contain.) You want to gradually work up to taking 12-15 grams of fiber a day, so if you continue with the psyllium caps and they are 1/2g apiece, you should work up to 24 to 30 a day. Personally, I'd look into taking a different fiber format - perhaps Heather's acacia, which is available on this site - because it's a lot more cost-efficient than the caps.

Hi there I'm mostly a D but quite often with medications I end up C so I guess I'm an A like you. Over the counter antispasmodics like Buscopan don't make me C however I've had prescription one's in the past like colofac and they made me so clogged I was worse off than when I had the D so it's likely they'll make you more constipated. Unfortunately because they take away the pain they also take away the urge to "go" so you end up more C than ever. I can't help with the fibre unfortunately I can't tolerate them but I hope I've been a bit helpful with the antispamodics.
