Sorry for all the posts and questions .. and if this is answered somehwere already, feel free to just throw me in that direction.
I am starting the "break the cycle" diet, so obviously I am sticking to breads, rices, bananas, carrots ..etc. But, this is nowhere near enough protein for me. I am so weak right now, and dizzy and my stomach feels completely empty ... even after eating. I have high blood sugar so anytime I dont have enough protein I get shaky and weak, and if left untaken care of, I eventually pass out. I'm not sure what to do. Is there anything else that can be included in the break the cycle diet, that has protein? It has been hard enough for one day, but I can't make it for a few days .. my body is just kinda lifeless right now.
Thanks Chelsea

Maybe some plain grilled chicken breast with some rice would help you feel better.

Immediately add some peanut butter or some cooked chicken. See if that helps.

Is that allowed during the "break the cycle" diet ... i know I can start adding other foods to my diet afterwards, but is it ok to have some now?

I'd say you have to take the breaking the cycle diet and then do whatever else you need to do....if eating what you are right now isn't enough---you have to add to it. I agree with chicken, it's pretty harmless.

If needed, safe protein is just fine during BTC. Personally, I'd avoid nut butters as they're high fat, but grilled chicken breast or fish/seafood cooked with no extra fat or spices will be just fine.
Fyi, I can't do w/out my protein either!

I'd add reduced fat peanut butter, chicken and seafood ASAP.

You should still have it with SF tho. Remember...only ever SF on an empty tum.

Definitely! Now, do you have to eat something SF first, and then the ISF .. or can you like mix a lot of pasta with some chicken and eat it all at once?

You can mix chicken with pasta and eat it together. Or, you can put it on bread and have it like a sandwich.

Just to put my 2 cents in - I can't do this if my stomach is mostly empty. In that case, I have to have soluble fiber before I have protein, even if it's just a few forkfuls of pasta or a half-slice of bread. And the emptier my stomach is, the more soluble fiber I have to eat before it will gracefully accept protein.
What can I say? My stomach has a mind of its own. Hee-hee.

...and when you first start adding that back in, do at least some SF first. But the safe protein sources are just fine with, not after.

I know, it sounds insane, but that's what my new dr. (naturopath) recommended to get me back to eating safely. I get a jar of baby food pureed meat and mix it with rice. Needs salt, but other than that, it works great and I can keep it down and in (if you know what I mean). I also have started on a medical protein drink. It is rice (or soy, can't remember) based and that's worked well so far. I have low blood sugar problems, so I know where you are coming from. The baby food is definitely worth a try!

Can you make some chicken noodle soup with boneless/skinless chicken breast? Chicken and rice soup? You could even stick it in the blender. Perhaps add a little carrot or something agreeable?
