I read in a magazine that you should steer clear of breath mints when you have gas because most of the time they stimulate acid production in your tummy so they make you feel worse so should I stop eating Altoids?

Hi - peppermint is a smooth muscle relaxant, which is why it's so effective for IBS, and also why it can trigger heartburn. But gas isn't related to heartburn, so if peppermint isn't causing you any acid reflux there's no need to stop taking it.
