Hi there all.

Ive just done a search on Fybogel and I undrstand this is not recommended?

I wonder if anyone could shed any light on this?

Is the ispaghula husk an irritant or is it just because of the aspartame content that it is not recommended for us?

I am usually IBS D but after a bad attack on Sunday its been 5 days since any sign of a BM

Any advice greatful.

(Linz I know you are UK based could you please let me know of any UK products you would recommend?)

Many thanks.

The isphagula husk is like psyllium so it tends to cause gas and bloating on it's own. The sweeteners are also not good. Plus, it's totally gross.

Boot's Chemists has some other SFSs that you can get on prescription. You'd have to go the chemist, ask to look at the fibre supplements and then note down the names to take to your GP.

Personally I just order Acacia. It's so much better and it's not even that much hassle ordering from the States.
