About 2 1/2 weeks ago I went to Florida and on the last day of vacation had a severe D attack before coming home!
I saw my gastro when I got back because I continued to have D for a week! He put me back on Asacol for my colitis because I have IBS and colitis(yipee!) Anyway he said to give it 3 weeks but I should be on my way to recovery in 2 well it's been over 2 and I felt better for a few days and I stayed on bread etc. but now I'm back to D and severe naseau can't even look at food! I've tried the ginger it makes me sick to even smell it Does anyone have any suggestions I'm desperate I start a new job next Monday and I need to feel better! Any help would be soooo appreciated!

Hi

You should read my reply to the gastric dumping problem. I found that gravol doesn't help that much and makes you dizzy and tired. Drinking and eating Ginger really doesn't seem that strong but it makes a difference if you buy the ginger tablets and start taking them. For some reason in March I was so naseated that I lost 22 pounds in less then a month. The Ginger tablest worked. I took them regularly and a larger dosage than the bottle said and everytime in between that I felt that I was going to throw up. I also those prego suckers (ginger suckers) really helped. Make sure if you can find them that they are really strong and not just a mild candy type. I purchased mine from Evergreen Pharmacy in Campbell River, BC, Canada. Some of the ones on the internet are just weak candy types with lots of sugar and not ginger. If you can't find them anywhere else strong e-mail me and I can give you there phone number and maybe you could try ordering them and having them mail them to you. I had to do that cause I started a new job and was so sick and worried that it wouldn't look good that I was always sick with naseau and IBS. Though I never told work that I had IBS.

Anyways I recommend that you run out and buy capsules of really strong ginger. Ginger grated, in candy, tea, etc didn't help me and of course you can't even be near food so the capsules really make the difference. At the health food stores ask them which is the strongest dose of ginger. Different brands make them weaker than others. A side note is when my cats vomit I start to pull the capsules apart and sprinle it onto their food and they stop vomiting because they have some gastro problems.
Good luck and e-mail me and tell me how it goes. You can reach me at mightymouselost@hotmail.com

Honestly I would go for some prescription drugs like Tigan or another anti-nausea pill. I take Tigan at times for nausea and it works great! Also, try some Chamomile tea. I hope you feel better soon.
