Hi - If you're eating seafood or skinless chicken breast you're fine. It's actually darn hard to be B-12 deficient unless you follow a strict vegan diet for many years and you make no effort to get vegan sources of B-12 like fermented soy products (seitan, miso) and organically grown root vegetables. Most vegans are well-aware of the nutrition they need and don't have a problem. If you're not vegan, you're highly unlikely to become B-12 deficient. You can actually be checked for this - it's a simple blood test. And you can take a multi-vitamin with B-12 in it if you're concerned.

Hi, I was found to have a vit b12 deficiency recently, odd since i do eat meat, and am young, as this tends to occur in the elderly. Anyhow, i was prescribed Sublingual B12 pills, 1000mg per day, they melt under your tongue so get into your bloodstream faster. I would try the blood test if you are concerned, a b12 deficiency can lead to pernicious anemia and permanent neurological damage if it goes unchecked for too long. Best of Luck Kris
