Okay, I have reached my limit with the constipation and have decided that it is time to break down and take a suppository.

I have taken them in the past and have ended up just evacuating the suppository and creating mucous discharge the rest of the day (uncontrolled accidents )!

For those who have taken suppositories successfully, is there a time you recommend taking them? First thing in morning? After breakfast? At the end of the day? Afternoon?

Or doesn't it really matter? I hope someone can answer soon as I am really hurting this am and would like to do it ASAP!
Thanks

Beth, I've never taken them. I used to have constipation way back when and my doctor told me to take mineral oil. I bought it at a pharmacy and it worked very well. Have you tried that?

Do you remember how much you had to take to get a BM and how quickly the BM came aftwards?

Did it make you sick? Did you just drink it straight or add it to a food?
Thanks, sweetie. I need to get some of this "crap" out of me today!

It was just a teaspoon I think. It was pretty tasteless and took a while to go through my system. It was gentle and worked well.

Maybe you should try going for a long walk today. That can get things moving.

Hi Beth! You and I are in the same boat today. I just took one this morning! I take them once in awhile to get more cleaned out. You can take them anytime really. Just try to hold it in for as long as you can, that way it will get completely dissolved. So, even if you feel the urge to go right away, just try to hold it until you can't stand it anymore!! Good luck...

Jessica

Well, wish me luck! Don't you get the messy mucous discharge afterwards that lasts throught the day? Like your farting out mucous? Sorry so yucky.

Isn't the miralax working well enough. And aren't you suppose to be in cancun by now?

I don't recall having picked a specific time of day or anything like that. Actually, I'm looking back through my food/health journal from last summer (see? now I'm really glad I kept this thing!) and I've taken them all times of day with success. I don't know if it was coincidence or not, but the one I took midafternoon seemed to work the fastest and most thoroughly.

I also don't know what kind you've used, but make sure they're glycerin.

Yeah, some of the suppository does come out, but that's normal. And yeah, there's some weird discharging the rest of the day. Long maxi pads are your friend.

Good luck!
