The candy, not the herb. Is is safe for our tummys? I love those licorice Snaps candy and Good 'n Plentys. Just wanted to check.

Thanks gang!

What are the ingredients? I think they are, by the way how you get the posts to bold? I haven't figured that out yet.

They should be fine. Just double check the ingredients to make sure they don't sneak something weird in there.

My weakness is Swedish fish....I love those things!

Hey there - Real licorice (which is an herb, and used in candies extensively in Europe, especially Scandinavia, but oddly quite rare in candies in the US) is a laxative. So you want to avoid any black licorice (the real thing is never red) that actually says "licorice" in the ingredients. Otherwise, enjoy! (And fyi, most US black licorice is often flavored with anise, which is fab for IBS) The red is just fine too.

Thanks! Oddly, I CANNOT stand black licorice. I'm IBS-C, so would real licorice candy move things along?

Yes, it probably would. But you'd want to be careful - just because it's herbal doesn't mean it can't cause side effects or dependency. You can get real licorice root in dried form in the bulk section of health food stores. Other than that I've only seen it in imported Scandinavian candies (and I'm with you on the taste - yecch!)
