Can anyone reccomend [sp?] items from either of these stores? I want to make a field trip next week.
(Sorry for having three new things in a row here)

Being a Brit, I can't recommend anything, but I just wanted to say: Post away! It's no problem, especially as you're always friendly and polite!

Hmmm...lets see...
Well, what can you eat? Are you ok with a lot of sugar?
My list when I go:
Jasmine rice Apples Potatoes Imagine Soups (pureed veggies...easy on the tummy and oh so yummy!) Puffed millet cereal Oatmeal (if you can eat it...I can't but it's great for most IBS folks) Pasta Tomato sauce (make sure nothing has high fructose syrup in it) I buy beans...make sure you mash them. West Brae is a Kosher brand. See if they have fresh bread that's Kosher without HFCS in it. White bread...no whole wheat for us folks! Fish. I like sardines, kipper snacks, etc. Crackers. Rice cakes. Carrots. (They may be too harsh on your tummy as you're just starting out. But try it and see how you do if you like). Quinoa is a great grain and they have boxes you can make in the microwave. I think the brand is Seeds of Change. (P.S. Check everything for a Heksher. I've bought tea at Whole Foods and one week it had a Heksher and the next it didn't. Hubby and I were outraged! Just a warning).
I can't really think of anything else. But I'm sure you'll get lots of help here.
And don't worry about posting too much...it's not possible
Hope you had a great Shabbos...Gut Vuch!

No, vast amounts of sugar is a bad idea. Not just because of digestions, but I'm ADHD, and specifically sugar sensitive, so not good.
Thanks for the tips!

I'm ADD! I also can't do sugar. I'm glad I left out the sugary stuff from the list then.
Btw, you can buy bagels. (If you eat white flour...I don't). You can try peanut butter or peanut butter alternatives (like almond butter). You can also buy soymilk, rice milk, or almond milk at Whole Foods. Melba crackers are a good snack (check ingredients). Pretzels are another good one. I'll keep thinking for ya!
Hope this helps....

I noticed in the ingredients that some of the Trader Joe's bagels, there's HFCS. Spinoza brand, I think. Is there a difference between white flour and white bread?

White bread is made from white flour. But they stuff other ingredients in with it The best bread for IBSers is French /Italian/Sourdough
These breads are basically yeast, a drop of sugar (just enough to get the yeast to bubble), white flour and water. They're delicious! Is there a Kosher bakery near you? They should have something without the added stuff. Did I answer your question completely...if not write me back!

I'm sorry if this is too personal but you said you have adhd and I was wondering if your on meds? I just started some for that. I don't actually have that but a hard time concentrating and anxiety. I think the meds are making my stomach and c worse thats why I was wondering. Sorry a little off topic. As for trader joes I found frozen fruits that are great for baking and taste fresh. They have healthier scones and muffins. A lot of healthier frozen meals.I like there pre made sandwiches too. Take care.

Like I said in one of my other posts to you, I get dairy free roasted vegetable frozen pizzas(Trader Joe's own) and fat free (No Pudge is the brand name) brownie mix at Trader Joe's. Sometimes I'll pick up some quinoa or potato gnocchi from there as well. Oh, and mango-tangerine sorbet.
I used to go to Whole Foods to get rice cheese and rice butter, but now I can get the rice cheese at Fresh Grocer, and I just find subs for butter instead of using the rice butter. But they do have a good selection of various snacks, teas, and frozen foods. Have fun!
