I tried to make homemade brownies the other day and they came our weird. I substituted the whole eggs with double the amount of egg whites. I substituted the butter for my vegan butter. I think I am close but the egg whites don't bind the ingredients together like the whole eggs do. Is there anything I can do or am I out of luck?

Kimberly: You're never out of luck.........here is something I posted a while back, you can probably use the information in it to find a good supplemental binder: Egg Substitutes
Also, I use Xanthan Gum to help bind some of my baked items.

Kimberly,
Although I don't have the answer to your question, you might do a search for a brownie recipe that is IBS friendly or for substitutions or post your question on the recipe board. Here is one link I found to a recipe for Hot Fudge Brownies:brownies
Hmm...brownies are sounding pretty good right now, I miss chocolate!
Good luck!

I've had good luck with the hot fudge brownies from the recipe board, but I also like No Pudge - www.nopudge.com. Just mix with a container of vanilla soy yogurt & bake. Yummy!

I thought I was on the recipe board. I am new to this whole message board thing. Thank you, I will make sure I am on the right board next time.
