Pages: 1 Weight gain from severe Constipation?       #146089 - 02/02/05 08:16 PM Edit Reply Quote amcnally Reged: 04/22/04 Posts: 11 Loc: Dayton, Ohio This is weird for me to ask...but I have had IBS-C for the last 6 months or so. and I have gained alot of weight! nothing has changed with my eating or activity. So my Dr thinks that the constipation is part of the problem. The waste in the colon in still absorbing calories into my body. Does that sound right to anyone? Anyone else gain weight like this? I am going to try the fiber more regularly. See if this helps. But anyone else had this problem? That sounds so odd!! I've been very C my whole life & have also been very petite my whole life. The C has never caused me to gain weight.
