Hey guys, I've been recently recovering from the flu. I went to the hospital on Thursday and they kept me over night to hydrate me. Do you have any recomendations for safe stomach and IBS food? I've been eating some crispix, toasted sour dough bread and a bit of apple sauce. Do you think bananas would be safe? Thanks.

Hi. I have had the same thing this week! I'm a IBS sufferer, and I tend to catch germs easily.

So sorry you had the flu. It's so awful isn't it?! Glad you are on the mend. I'm better now too. I almost went to the emergency, but I somehow fought through it. It was such a terrible experience!

Anyway, I've been eating boiled red potatoes. First you boil them for awhile. Then you spray a pan with pam spray and bake them. I eat them with salt. I have eaten saltine crackers, some baby pear sauce, and even white chicken breast meat in moderation is okay. Other good things are jello mixed with hot water...jello water. I put cold water in it to make it a bit cooler. Jello is very soothing for my stummy aka stomach

Other things I eat are pretzels, bagels. I have been drinking water SINCE I got better. However, when you are sick with the flu water will most likely make you feel very sick :*( I drink gatorade, but sometimes it's too sweet for me. I recommend drinking it in moderation. Jello water has soothed my tummy the most out of all drinks.

Chicken soup broth with noodles is also good.

Bananas? I'm not sure about them. I wouldn't eat it yet if I were you.

Rice with chicken or beef bouillon is also helpful. (Bouillon is made from cubes either chicken or beef. You pour hot water over the cube till it dissolves. You can pour this juice over noodles and rice to give them a flavor since we have to watch spices!)

I hope this helps and I hope you are feeling much better!
Blessings,
RoseMarion
