Too much oil?

Sorry that this is off of the current subject but I have another question if anyone knows the answer. Ok we are supposed to use as little oil as possible. But in recipes, how do we know how much is too much? And things like avacodos or olives...how much oil or fat do they have and or what would be a recomended serving of them? Sorry to be such a pain with all these little questions! Thanks again.

Well you have to figure how many servings something is. You can just do a rough estimate. 1 tablespoon of oil has 14 grams of fat so if you were to put 1 tablespoon per serving it would be 14 grams per serving just from the oil and that is a lot. I use Pam for cooking most of the time and follow Heather's recipes for amount of oil in baking. Avocados and olives really need to be used sparingly and with a meal that is lower in fat. This link will give some idea of the fat in foods like that. It is always higher than you think. Yet a little oil is good for us.
