Well Ive managed to get totally back on with the diet and to celebrate I went for a wonder round a shop we have round the corner called Planet Organic. Wow, what a cool shop, isles and isles of safe, yummy things!! I could have spent serious cash in there but instead came out with only 4 items.

Sojasun Raspberry Passion dessert - Yum, really good, didnt even taste that soya-ish taste you get to some things.

Redwood Cheezly Chedder Style - Yeah this was ok, I tried and tried to melt it on my jacket spud but the best thing I found was to scoop the middle out, mash a bit of this in and then stuff back in, was nice.

Dove Farm Choco Crispy Bar Thing - Yeah this was quite yummy too.

Fennel Tea - To help with the beach ball attatched to the front of my body!!

They had loads and loads of stuff I could've bought, all sorts of soya things and vegan, meat replacement stuff, a lot lot more than my local H&B. They even have a cafe serving muffins and cheesecakes and rice and things.

Does anyone else in the UK visit these shops or are they just in London village??? If you do can you recommend any other tasty things?

I have been in Planet Organic a couple of times - the shop just round the corner from Tottenham Court Road - I don't know if there are any other branches. I find a lot of the things they sell are a bit too hard on my insides - anything with nuts, seeds, dried fruit, is too much for me - unfortunately - I used to live on stuff like that!

Have you tried Swedish Glace soya ice-cream? Vanilla and Chocolate are both very good and about 10% fat (I think - haven't got any here to check!)

Also, fat-free honeycake, for sale in lots of HFS and some supermarkets, usually a Dutch brandname.

Fromsoya "cheese" spread, especially the one with horseradish flavouring.

Quorn - don't know what I'd do without it! Also Realeat TVP mince and pieces.

Cauldron marinated tofu, also the beech-smoked variety ... very easy to use in quick recipes because they have such a good flavour.

miso, tofu, pickled ginger - Clearspring is a good brand for all Japanese food ingredients.

In other cities, similar shops I know of:

Glasgow - Grassroots - fantastic shop, very good Japanese food section, plus wide choice of herbal teas, different kinds of bread, rice, quinoa, etc.

Manchester - On the Eighth Day; also Oxford - Uhuru, but I don't know for sure if they are still running.
