Good luck on the acupuncture. I might do that sometime. And your RKT experience sounds like me making Will's rice pudding in a saucepan!

IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!

Please let us know how the acupuncture goes. I am really interested in it and if it really works for you then I just might invest in going. I am about ready to do anything that will help with this.

Accupuncture is absolutely wonderful! I lived in Korea for a year and was able to go to an accupuncturist about 3 or 4 times a week. Each visit was only about 4 dollars - yep, only 4 dollars! :-) I think it helped me a lot. It relaxed me and helped me with cramps. It also helped a lot with menstrual cramps. I want to go here in the States, but it's just too expensive for me right now. One thing my accupuncturist recommended is to use a heating pad every day even if I'm not having pain. She said the heat was good for my abdomen. Also, she said hot tea was good and to avoid cold drinks and food. I drink Heather's Peppermint Tea and love it. If any of you haven't tried it, I highly recommend it. Good luck with your accupuncturist.

I have been getting acupuncutre for almost 2 months now to help with IBS. I started going when my regular doctor wanted to put me on anti-depressants to control my IBS...I said no way and decided to go the eastern medicine route. It has been amazing! I have not had a single 'attack', with the exception of some cramping which I can directly link to specific things I ate or drank that day...it is also wonderful for PMS and similar symptoms...good luck!
