I am curious as to whether the herb from India called Triphala is safe for the contstipation phase of IBS? I am an Alternating C and D and am curious as to what time of day is best to take this herb, and how many mg to take at each dosage? Is this safe to use on a consistant basis? Or is it harmful? Dr. Andrew Weil recommended it on a radio show but that was for constipation. He didn't recommend it for IBS specifically. Does anyone else use this herb?

I don't use it as it can be a very strong laxative. Good if you're IBS-C.
