I had a bm late Sunday night, but I haven't gone yet since then. I was doing really well and then I got C for a week and then D this weekend and the combination has messed me up!
My question is, if I have a glass (small) of V8 per day is that enough insolubles? I really don't know why I'm not going daily, I was up until last week!

What "enough" is varies from person to person. Try a glass of V8 for a couple of days and see how you feel. How about some applesauce? Vegetable soup? In any case, add or subtract insolubles slowly based on what your belly is telling you. You're the ultimate judge!

I have been drinking one glass of V8 everyday and it has been helping. I think I should add more. Apple sause, I can't eat, it has corn in it and I am allergic. Do you know of any other fast (on the go) safe insolubles? Thanks.

I don't understand why your applesauce would have corn in it. My applesauce is pure apple with no other additives. A couple of others things to think about. 1, are you getting enough SFS? 2, are you drinking a lot of water? 3, are you getting exercise? Those things have really helped me.

I looked at quite a few apple sauses and they all stated that they had corn in them. What brand do you buy?
Yes, I am taking 2 1/2 Tablespoons of Acacia, and no I have no time to exercise, I have my wedding coming up in a month, so I am short on time. I also, have been drinking tons of water. I used to exercise 3 times a week. After the past fews months even if I didn't exercise I stil went.

I'm also IBS C. Try a snack pack of raisins a few times a week. Try some hummus, dip some bread in it for a quick little snack. I make up pasta salad with some chicken (you can buy already cooked chicken to save time) and add in some kidney beans, yummy! Or try pasta salad with tuna and peas! Grapes and oranges tend to loosen things up for me when things get backed up!

Thanks Michele! Any kind of pickles? Can I eat any of them except for the butter flavored ones I am assuming?

I like the valastic sweet midgits, crunchy and sweet-mmmm! The bread and butter pickles, as they are called, I don't believe them to have any butter in them!!! I'll have to check my jar when I get home, I eat them and don't have any problems!

funny that you posted this today, I was going to post a similiar question. I am about to go on a trip in a couple of weeks, so I needed to know what insoloubles are portable to take. or course my little V8 containers are coming with! I am an Aer, too, and I have noticed that if I find an insolouble that works, it is best to not overdo it! Your body, like mine, probably was able to work with the V8 for awhile, than got used to it. Try alternating every couple of days the insoulble that you use. I personally ALWAYS eat an insolouble at breakfast, because I like to get everything out of my system before I go to work and school. One morning it will be oatmeal with bluberries microwaved or a pear, bowl of kix with a kiwi or strawberries, bagel with microwaved veggies or a V8. I also noticed that if I don't overdo it on mangoes that they can help, even though they are solouble. variety is the only thing that keeps me stable now, before I would find something that worked and stick to it, but in the end I would just get my body sick of it. Hope I helped alittle.

Thanks Sherri! I bet that is what happened. But, I haven't added any other insolubles other than pealed apples and V8. I am too scared.I don't want to have D at work, because that is when it always happens to me and it is so embarrasing when somone walks in the bathroom . I hate that feeling. I am going to try adding rasins and maybe grapes.

I make my own (really, you just cut up apples, add a little water, and heat it on the stove for 30 minutes) or I get an organic brand from Whole Foods. Try looking for "unsweetened" on the label....

Try your best even to take a couple of 10 minute walks during the day or do some yoga stretches and meditation. Sounds like you might be tense and on-the-go all day long, which is something your colon does not approve of! ![](/messageboards/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif)

Well, as of recently, yes I have been on the go a lot. I am going to try incorporting some apple sause and some other insolubles. Thanks for the list of the brands. I will look for them, or one day if I have time I will try making it myself. Thanks

Try Mott's Applesauce. It is 100% natural with vitamin C. You can find in at your grocer's. It is made by Healthy Harvest.
I have never heard of corn being in applesauce, but I am learning a lot of new things.
Hang in there!
P.s. glad the V8 is working for you. I am drinking one small can every other day until my system gets use to it.

I will look for that. Maybe I hould up my intake of V8. It was working with a small glass, now no such luck. I guess, I have to drink a large glass. We'll see.
