I was doing great for awhile now and now I am backed up again. I have been doing well for a long time, I considered myself stable. Tuesday I got my period and now I am C. I haven't had a bm since Monday! I usually have C the week before, instead I was fine for the week before and now for some reason I am C the week of my period. It doesn't make sense! I am doing everything the same and I have gone up on the Acacia. Does anyone know what I can do. I had a pealed apple last night, V8 today, I don't know what more I can do!?

I'm so sorry you're not feeling well Try drinking something really hot, this sometimes causes me to go!! also, try eating an orange, sometimes they work better for my C than apples! If all else fail, use a glycerin suppository. They won't give you the awful cramps like a regular laxative.

Great thanks Michele. If I do everything you say and if I still don't go I will try the suppository. Is that the Fleet brand, (I tried this one). Is this the same as the water suppositories? Thanks.

Hmm, not sure. I always thought fleet made just enama's (sp?) I have the generic Walgreens brand and the just say "Glycerin suppository" on them!! You'll see them, they are by all the other laxatives. I'm not exactly sure what a water suppository is-are you thinking of an enama? An enama is a liquid solution in a bottle you squirt in and it washes everything out, they give me AWFUL cramps. A glycerin suppository is just a gel like thing you insert and hold for about 5 minutes until it melts and it produces a BM very quickly. Have you tried peri-colace, which are stool softners? They are NOT a laxative but you can take them regulary and they may help keep things moving for you. Feel better soon!

Just putting my 2 cents in, Fleet does make a suppository for relief of constipation. They are sold at Walgreens here in San Francisco.

Good luck.

Back when I was having C problems, someone suggested cooked spinach. Someone else suggested a little lemon juice in hot water, no sugar, drink it down pretty quickly.

Personally, I find that walking and yoga make me go. With yoga, any twists and deep stretches to the abs kind of felt like they got things moving. If I'm remembering correctly, I know you exercise, but have you tried the yoga poses for C here on the site? Can't hurt, might help...

Thanks Casey. I will try the lemon juice thing. Yes, I do exercise, not as much as I should. I have been so busy with the wedding plains (a month and two weeks to go).

That is a good idea, I will try the yoga poses for C, I forgot about those, thanks!
