What is a good "Energy Booster" snack that is IBS-D safe? new

I find in the late afternoons at work I feel hungry and run-down and kind of shaky and tired. I know I don't eat enough fruits and veggies...mainly snack on crackers, water, etc. But when I get home to hold me over til dinner I'll have a cracker and peanut butter or just a teaspoon of peanut butter and it seems to do the trick. Any other suggestions of an energy booster snack to take to work?

I just ate mine, some homemade chocolate cookies! I don't think there was any fat in them and they were wonderful. Just the right pick me up.

I keep a couple of bananas by my desk. Usually bring in 3 on Monday and two on Wednesday - they're filling and good for you!

That sounds good. Could you post the recipe?

I bake wheat free and I use honey and carob powder so I'm sure you wouldn't have my ingredients. But, fat free cookies fatfree.com has many recipes using cocoa powder and sugar but are still low fat. I take many regular recipes and just substitute apple butter for the butter/shortening and most of the time it comes out ok.

I find that some energy bars are good, and low fat too. What works for me is: Powerbar Harvest, Balance Bars, or EAS bars.

I could use that recipe for wheat free cookies. My aunt has a severe gluten allergy and is always looking for something to cure her sweet tooth. Thanks.

Corinne: I will be happy to post it when I return home on Sunday night. We're vacationing in Ventura right now so I don't have access to my recipes! But I did make up a batch to bring with me for those sweet moments. I'll also ask my friend about the chocolate chips as they may not be safe and you may have to substitute something else for them.
