I took my first dose of Zelnorm (30 min before meal) and had D for 3 hours! I'm scared to take a 2nd or 3rd dose. My question is how many times can I expect this to happen? I am usually C. Thanks, Amy Oh, why does the label say "temporary" relief???

They only tested it on a temporary basis. But I had D pretty bad when I was on it and that was b/c the doc didn't ask me any questions or anything and didn't seem to understand I alternate between C and D. So I got messed up- but found this site! Personally I am very suspicious of Zelnorm. Be careful and use good judgement. I think you can lighten on the dose if needed. BTW people have died on it- not to scare you or anything.

"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!

Amy, I don't think I've had a chance to say hi to you before. Sorry to hear you've had such a dramatic reaction to the Zelnorm. If you can reach your doctor or your pharmacist before you take the next dose, it might be helpful.
Hang in there!
