Does this make sense to anyone?

I have eliminated all my triggers (even dairy) and I am thinking back to when I ate all of the triggers. I remember, if I had eaten dairy (normally I would just bloat) and then if I became stressed or nervous, I would have to run to the bathroom with D. Now that I have been on Heather's diet for several months, it seems like since I eliminated the trigger foods, when I am nervous, I rarely have to run to the bathroom, on occasion I do. Is this just coincidence or does the brain gut reaction mostly happen when you have a trigger food? Or is it just me that this happens to?

No, you're right. Because IBS triggers aren't like true allergies (where the tiniest amount of that food will cause analphylatic (sp?) shock), there can be a build-up effect. And this can include the external triggers like stress and anxiety. So the dairy alone would just make you bloated, but dairy AND anxiety would give you D as well. I have this with my migraines too.

Ditto to Linz's comment.

Hang in there.
