I am fighting off an attack of D. I have taken 2 immodium and a NuLev. But I still feel like I am going to have to go. I think it is the Naproxen b/c it is the only thing different in my diet for the past couple of days. And I have felt an attack coming on the last couple days but was able to ward it off. I don't think I am going to be that lucky today. What over the counter pain reliever can I use for my fibro that won't cause an attack of D? I have left a message with my doc but until he calls back I need to take something for the aches.
Oh and by the way thanks for the Benadryl tip! I actually had a dream last night so I must have reached deep sleep for a short period anyway. I still got up a couple times during night.

Hi, Christie! I was afraid that might happen with the naproxen. That's too bad. Try extra strength Tylenol (or store brand equivalent). Plus heating pad of course! Warm bath if you like them. Gentle stretching.
Glad the Benadryl helped!

naproxen kills my knee pain, but my D didn't go away until I stopped taking it... its a huge trigger for me, as is the Lodine I also used to take (I have arthritis in one knee and one wrist) I'm down to tylenol if I want a painkiller and not taking anything for my arthritis- without any NSAIDS I do much better stomach wise, but there are definitely days when I wish I could take or do SOMETHING

Amie and Christie, I've actually found that now that I'm stable I can take a naproxen every once in a while as long as I take an Imodium with it. That has really helped with some of the fibro breakthrough pain and with the migraines. And it's the ONLY thing that works for my monthly cramps. I probably take four or five a month now but never more than one a day and ALWAYS with Imodium. Just FYI for future reference.
