I thought I read somewhere that these are safe?? They have whey from milk in them - I'm assuming that's a bad thing right?? Or are they ok to eat?? Please say they are because I just ate 4 of them!!!!!!!

They're honestly probably not the best thing you could have eaten - they tend to be higher in fat for what you're getting in terms of size, but I don't think there's a necessity with eating four that anything will happen. It will probably depend on your own personal form of IBS. Hopefully not though!

I'm sure you'll be fine -- just try and take your mind off of it, since that will only make things worse!

No, I couldn't take the side effects and do the move back to Halifax at the same time. Right now I'm using a combination of loperamide and dicetel to keep things working OK. It's not the best, but it's better than nothing.

Do you find the SSRI's are working for you? I still might consider going on them, maybe over winter break with the impact of any side effects won't hamper school. In the end it all sort of depends on whether things settle down or not really -- the last two months have been rough because of all the stress related to quitting the job and moving back here, so I'm hoping that with relaxation and proper diet I might be able to make an impact myself. We'll see though...

Hi Laural! Welcome to the boards!
Thanks for your response, and I'm so glad the diet is working for you! That's always great to hear. The vanilla wafers didn't do anything to me, yet...just the rumbling So that's good. I don't think I'll eat them again though....
Congrats on losing 45 pounds! That is wonderful.
Keep posting!

Understandable. Those side effects were not fun. I don't have any more - except the sex drive thing....I don't know if that will go away or not!
I do feel better on Zoloft, but I have still had some rough nights with anxiety. I wonder if I need to up the dose, but I don't really want to.
Hopefully you can find something that works for you!! Good luck with everything, and hopefully you can relax soon!

Hey Cara
I am taking the Zoloft at 100mg for a week but been on it a total of about 4 weeks I stillhave a few of the side effects. I have the shakes and the sweats. No problem with my sex drive though. What MG are you taking right now? How long till your side effects wore off?
Thanks

Hi Heather! I'm taking 50mg right now. I have been on it for 2 months now. I had D from it for 5 weeks. That was my main side effect...and the sex drive. It was awful for 5 weeks, I had NO desire...and we have been trying to get pregnant so that didn't help! (However I finally found out I'm not not ovulating and now I'm taking progestrone - but that's a different story!). Anyways, the side effects weren't awful for me - the D wasn't painful, and I only had sleeping problems for the first week.
Maybe I should up the dose to 100mg. I'm worried about taking that much and getting pregnant...I know Zoloft is one of the 'safe' ones for pregnancy, but I don't know how much is safe...do you?

Another Laura!!!! WHOO HOO!!!! Welcome!! Love your quote!

So glad to hear the diet is helping! We like to hear those success stories.

Cara, the only problem I remember with Vanilla Wafers is high fructose corn syrup. The whey may only be in the lowfat version. But Vincent's right. Take some deep breaths and calm your tummy down. Four cookies shouldn't do you in!

I was supposed to start taking BC again this month but we decided not to and are still going to try to get pregnant I have been trying for a year now. I go to the Doctor on Tuesday and this will be one of the things I talk to her about. Being on the zoloft at 100mg and getting pregnant. I will let you know what she says. I know she has talked about sending me to a fertilty doc because it has been a year so I don't know.
GOOd Luck

I thought I remembered something about you trying to get pregnant too, that's why I mentioned it! I would LOVE to hear what your doctor has to say - thank you! We have been really trying for 9 months, but I've been off the pill for longer. I was doing temp charts and ovulation kits and was getting nothing - my periods were 60+ days apart...finally my doc put me on progestrone last week! I'm glad we can finally get the ball rolling, I knew something wasn't right!
Good luck to you too! And definately let me know what your doctor says. Thanks!

Hello Cara
I ended up taking my daughter and myself to the doc this morning because of colds. I lucked out to because it was my Doc that was in today. She said it was prefectly safe to take 100mg of zoloft while pregnant. She also said that my shaking and sweats would probably go away in a few weeks.
Good Luck
