Hi LauraSue,

I have been trying to add veggies (carrots only so far) slowly and I have but no matter how little the portion I still get D. Even if I have a lot of soluble fiber first. I had a small portion and I had bloating and the D. Did you add veggies?

Yes, I have successfully added lots of veggies.

Carrots are actually a good source of soluble fiber, and shouldn't be a problem, normally. They're on Heather's list of soluble fiber foods. Are you cutting them very small and cooking them very well? You're not putting butter on them are you? Perhaps you just have an intolerance to them.

Try a few green peas well done and mushed up in some rice. If you like peas that is!

I'm not up on your other posts -- you ARE taking a soluble fiber supplement aren't you?

Hope this helps. Good luck and keep trying!

HI,
I used to be able to eat carrots. I only sliced them and ate them plain after microwaving them. I am taking 1 tabelspoon of Acacia. Thanks LauraSue.

this might sound dumb, but are you making sure you chew them up pretty well before swallowing, I can eat cooked carrots, if I concentrate and make sure I chew them really well, otherwise they do bother my IBS-D. And of course I usually only eat them if I am having rice, and mostly I use them in stews or soups along with pasta or rice.

Sweetd, that's good that you're taking Acacia. What does Heather recommend as the full daily dose to work up to? Is that it? You may need to increase it. Until I got to my full SFS dose, I still had trouble with some foods.

Hi, Angela! I haven't had a chance to say hello yet. I see you joined us in July. I've read some of your other posts and see you are also a migraine sufferer like me!

Welcome to the board. As you've already discovered, it's a GREAT place!
