Any other burping freaks out there?

Thanks to all of you who answered my last post.
I'm still hoping to recruit more people to my burping freaks gang (will have to think of a more catchy name..)
Anyone else out there suffer from a feeling of trapped air (rather than gas produced by foods):-
- in the chest, which makes you feel like you need to burp? - across the belly button - if I crouch down and press just to the left of my belly button the air seems to come up - feeling like you need to catch a deep breath whilst you're eating? - glass-shattering, unearthly-sounding and very unlady-like burps? - sound of air gurgling back up the oesophagus?
I don't think this is about what I eat - more to do with how I eat really (i.e. too fast, rushed etc)
Am drinking fennel tea like there's no tomorrow and have started taking acacia, which I hope will help...
Is there a U.K. equivalent to Beano? And would this help with trapped air anyway?
I'd love to hear from anyone who can help.

Oh boy, do I burp! Instead of being embarassed about it, I have turned it into a joke, even though it's a little unladylike. One strategically timed burp from me can set my BF, my coworkers, etc into an uproar. I do not suggest this to anyone, different crowds react to things differently. I, too, have been (sometimes still am!), a fast eater. I gulp down food like no tomorrow. Take your time and it will help the burping alot, but it is hard to break the habit. I still battle with it. If you are eating at home, take a couple of bites, than get up and do something, like turn the radion station for example. After awhile it will get easier, but you do have to try hard at first. This is also better because if you are like me, than sometimes you can eat more than you need and your tummy can handle at one time cause you are shoving it all down, before you can realize that you are full. Good luck to you

You have to eat and drink slowly with IBS! ![](/messageboards/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif)
You don't get heartburn as well do you? Cos if so, that could be reflux problems.

No, the only time I get a touch of heartburn is after I've burped a lot and there's no air left in me! Other than that I'm a heartburn-free zone thankfully..
