Years ago, I had D all the time and lived on Immodium...the last year I've had terrible C. Now that I have been eating the way that is described in Heather's book, and keeping a food diary, I'm having awful D at night. I'm wondering, is it just my belly getting used to my new eating habits or am I doing something wrong? I welcome any suggestions anyone may have. I love the peppermint tea, but it doesn't seem to be helping all the time. Thanks!!!

Were you diagnosed properly? I.e. did you have a colonsocopy and all the other tests done? It sounds like you could do with seeing a GI doc again to make sure it's still only IBS.
Have you cut out caffeine, coffee, soda...? Do you eat insoluble fibre foods atm?

I did get all the proper tests...long ago and just recently. My husband is in the Navy and struggling to recover from back surgery, so I'm thinking I'm totally stressed about that. He has 8 months to get well before they medically discharge him after 14 years. I'm going to keep trying the diet for another week or so and then I'll make an appointment with the GI. Thanks Linz!!!

stress could be causing all fo this- is there something you can do to lower your stress levels? massages? readign a good book? long baths? stitching or some other artistic release?

Honestly...I've tried almost everything. My family life is just in limbo right now and I try very hard to stay positive for my husband and girls, but my husband is very down with the thought of being discharged from the Navy. I do try to take a 2 mile walk at least 3 days a week, and I usually feel much better afterward.

maybe walk more often, it doesn't have to be that long a distance.. I try to find a half hour or so every day to walk or something... and I know what you mean about life in limbo.. if theyh ever finish fixing the house we'll be selling it and getting out... 3 fires in under a year is too much, but that measn I won't be as close to work either..
