Are fully ripened bananas safe? Also, what about citric acid? I just bought a jar of Beachnut baby food and this is what it said on the back. I wanted to go with Gerber because the fruit is 100% organic but they didn't have that brand at the store I went to (I thought everyone carried it). Thanks

Bananas are safe. I can only handle 1/2 a banana at a time though so I mostly have a 1/2 banana with my cereal in the morning if I have cereal. I used some "really ripe" bananas to make the brown sugar banana bread from the eating for IBS book--it was really good--it didnt taste any different than the banana bread I used to make (before IBS) I hope this helps Missy

You should be fine with the citric acid, unless you have problems with reflux - if you don't, don't worry about it too much. I've been eating it every day with no problem. Just remember the solubles first!
By the way, I found the Beechnut babyfood absolutely horrible. It's pretty bitter. If you end up not liking it, don't let it turn you off the idea of babyfood for good... just try to find the Gerber, and make sure it's got sugar in it. LOL!

No, luckly, I don't have a problem with reflux The funny thing is up until I was about thirteen (as silly as this is) I used to eat baby food every now and then and I loved it. Thanks Casey!
