I was eating my oatmeal this morning and I had terrible stomach pains (just like I used to). I immediately had several altoids and it helped but now I can feel my stomach is ready to spasm again. I have been on this diet for about a month and it has helped a great deal--I think I got to "adventerous" though. I made a soy "milk" shake last night with non-dairy icecream and soy milk--it was really good but I think I triggered an attack. I ahve also cut my meds in half--I am taking an antidepressant that leaves my completely C! My GI told me it was my only choice. I am going to a wedding tonight. does anyone have advice for a quick recovery????

Try to relax and take it easy today. Drink lots of tea (peppermint/chamomile/fennel types) to try to get your tummy to settle. What do you normally eat when tummy's upset? I like to nibble on saltines, rice - that type of stuff. Maybe use a heating pad if it helps you.

The shake could have caused you problems if you had it on an empty stomach from being too cold and/or too high fat. A lot of the non-dairy ice creams are too high in fat so you have to be careful with them.
