So, I am always a D and NEVER EVER a C (except one time when I was on Percocet for a Kidney Stone)and I have not gone to the bathroom in TWO days! I've tried everything. I've had hot tea which makes me go if I can't. I've eaten 9 million brownies. I just had Pizza Hut for dinner. Nothing....I refuse to take any medication cause like I said I am NEVER constipated. This is such a switch for me. I know why though too. I had the day off yesterday and I don't know if anyone else notices this but when you get off your regular routine, it screws up the bowels .
What else can I do next to taking medication to get back on track? Any suggestions, really appreciated.

I'm so afraid tomorrow it's all gonna let loose and I will be in bed all day!

Hi,

Have you tried exercising or talking a long brisk walk? Sometimes that can get things moving. Also, what would be wrong with waiting till tomorrow to start "worrying"?? Two days isn't the worst thing in the world and maybe by tomorrow you will "go" and all the worrying for nothing.

Good luck

HI Barbie....I'm gonna try another cup of tea in a minute. Taking a long brisk walk is not an option for me now. I have a sick 6 year old (who I think is finally breaking his fever from having one for 4 days) and my other son has a friend over for a sleepover. I just don't feel comfortable leaving them alone tonight. Anyway, I know that would help. Maybe I'll go up and down the steps a couple times or vaccum or something. I probably will go tommorow, you are right. I'm not that worried. IT's just weird... I'm just uncomfortable right now....Still, if I had a choice between IBS D and C, I'd pick C in a second!

Good thought. If I don't go by tomorrow, they will be on my shopping list. However, probably in a oatmeal cookie cause I don't like plain raisins!

Go on a really long bus ride or boat ride to the middle of a lake where you're surrounded by lots of people and can't go to the bathroom, then you'll have to go!
