Hello -

This email is all about the key changes to our website I mentioned in yesterday's email.

And in case you missed yesterday's email, which was all about Amazon nearly bankrupting our business, you can read that here.

The biggest change is that we now have free shipping for all US orders over $39! This includes all of our most popular items and order combinations!

Bulleted below are the steps we took to make this happen:

1. USPS created new shipping categories that dovetail with the majority of our order profiles. This saves postage but still gets the order to you within the same delivery window.

2. Previously we had free shipping on your first order only. But when folks only ordered one item and got free shipping we actually lost money in many cases. So this has been replaced with free shipping on all orders over $39.

3. We set free shipping at $39 to net in all kits (most kits are 3 items or more), the new bulk pouches of tea bags, and all Tummy Tamers. These are our most popular items, and all kits are an extra 10% off to boot.

4. We took away the standing 10% off all single sku items and put the money towards making free shipping do-able. The net result is a better deal for you that saves you money.

The one difficult item to offer free shipping on is a single pouch of Tummy Fiber. So we have a three pouch bulk kit, which makes it possible to average out the shipping expense on our end and also give you an extra 10% off. This makes a single pouch of Tummy Fiber from the bulk kit less expensive than most (if not all) of the Acacia products on Amazon that are copying me.

FYI, for those of you who have not known me for the past 23 years:

Heather's Tummy Fiber is the original Acacia Senegal pure soluble fiber!

Every single seller now on Amazon with any kind of Acacia fiber product is a copycat, and they are just knocking me off.

Nearly every Acacia product on Amazon is Acacia Seyal, a cheap and low grade version of Acacia. Seyal has a brown appearance and a muddy taste (not at all tasteless like Tummy Fiber.) Nearly every seller on Amazon listing their product as Senegal actually has Seyal in the ingredient list.

So...how much Senegal is in their product?

No one says what their ratio is!

Which means that 15 out of 16 ounces could be low grade Seyal and only 1 ounce true Senegal.

The next question is, why are they putting Senegal in their product at all?

It's just so they can put Senegal on the label. Why are they doing this?

Beause I was the first person to bring Acacia to market as a fiber supplement, the copycats knew nothing at all about why I pioneered this and who the supplement was designed for (you!) So once they discovered Seyal was a much cheaper Acacia they tried to dominate the market with a lower price.

When I first started to see this years ago, I instantly knew what they were trying to get away with. So I started marketing Heather's Tummy Fiber as pure Acacia Senegal, not low grade Seyal.

This helped me reposition my brand more prominently on Amazon. But it didn't take long before the copycats decided to add some Senegal to their brand so they could trick people into thinking they were getting the higher quality fiber. I have to wonder what the next sleazy steps will be to confuse people and compete with the Tummy Fiber?

Pause: I just visited Amazon to check the copycat labels. Interestingly, many of them have now stopped showing images of their ingredients, so you can't tell if their product is Seyal. This was an Amazon policy violation, which makes me wonder how long it will take Amazon to catch them.

So - after two decades of selling Heather's Tummy Fiber, why did I wait so long to say something about all this?

Well, it's never a good strategy to trash another brand, so I tried to take the high road.

But after nearly being destroyed by Amazon and having to now reclaim my business, I've decided it is finally time to fight back and tell it how it is. (And I hate to be rude, but honestly at this point the copycats can suck it.)

By the way, after Amazon succeeded in getting me to send my customers to them for the Tummy Fiber, they knocked me off as well with their own brand of Acacia. It is hard to see this as anything other than an obvious attempt to steal customers. And if someone is searching for Acacia fiber on Amazon, do you think Amazon would push their brand over mine? I'll let you decide that for yourself.

There's more to say about all this, but I'll save it for another email. This is really about the free shipping that is now possible on HeathersTummyCare.com.

And please forgive me, I think this is the first time I've ever ranted in an email.

Anyhoo, if you missed the announcement in yesterday's email, I'm having a sale on my original Heather's Tummy Fiber (pure Acacia Senegal, never adulterated with any cheap Seyal) starting this Sunday the 28th. The sale will last for one week and end the following Sunday, May 5th.

I usually only do a promotion 1 -2 times a year on any of my products, so it will be a while before you see another sale. Don't miss this one.

And thank you, thank you, thank you, for continuing to support our company and keep us alive. We wouldn't be here without you!

XOXO
Heather

P.S. In case you skimmed this letter, be on the lookout for my Sunday email when the cart opens for our Tummy Fiber sale.
