I am so sorry to tell you we've had to suspend all Amazon sales of Heather's Tummy Care.
Don't panic! Everything that was listed on Amazon will continue to be available directly from our Tummy Care site.
Our Amazon story is heartbreaking and infuriating...
I know a lot of our folks have long relied on Amazon for their orders, so we do not do end our Amazon relationship lightly. But we reached the point where we just could not sustain that relationship any longer.
This was the most frightening decision my husband Will and I have had to make in the twenty year history of our Tummy Care business. We honestly did not know if we could survive without Amazon.
But as a small company, we reached a breaking point with the constant Amazon problems of lengthy shipment delays, inventory losses, warehouse damage, and the never ending chaos this caused our entire supply chain.
The last straw was sending five pallets of product to Amazon over the holiday season and having them delay receipt into their warehouses for nearly three months as our products were not a priority for their holiday sales.
While they delayed, we ran out of stock on almost all our listings, subscribe and save couldn't be filled, Amazon cancelled people's orders without explanation, and caused us a huge amount of turmoil.
They even deleted one of our oldest listings, the two pack of Tummy Tamers, without any reason or warning.
As you may know, a listing on Amazon is called an asin (Amazon Stock Keeping Unit). These asins have incredible value as it takes years and enormous marketing investments to gain prominence in search results and have what Amazon calls "velocity".
For Amazon to just randomly delete our twenty year old asin with high velocity? This felt comparable to having a brick and mortar store on main street and waking up one morning to find the whole store has been wiped off the face of the earth by the landlord. I still cannot believe Amazon did this!
Thankfully, many of you stayed loyal customers despite that turmoil and are now shopping on our site. But the aftermath of all this nearly bankrupted our business.
Because of the Amazon disasters, we lost significant revenue for many months. This all came on the heels of the Covid years. And the Covid troubles had already been followed by our brand new Tummy Tamer softgel line machinery defects, which required a two year redesign and rebuild from the ground up. The cumulative result was nearly fatal.
So we are focusing on prioritizing our own website orders and customers, our mom and pop retail stores, and our CVS stores for the Tummy Tamers peppermint oil capsules.
As a side note, please do not trust third party listings of any of our products on Amazon. Amazon does not have stock any more, we have closed our listings, and we do not sell to companies that resell on Amazon. We are hearing from customers who are getting used/damaged goods from Amazon orders of our products via third party sellers. Please do not trust those listings. Our only authorized resellers are our brick and mortar mom and pop health food stores, the IC Network, and CVS.
Again, my apologies that we have had to suspend our Amazon listings. I know that is a huge inconvenience, and I hope we are putting good alternatives in place asap.
