Question about those fab brownies

I made them for my family -- but they said they weren't "sweet" enough. I topped with some powdered sugar and that helped some -- but they still didn't like them as much as regular.The powdered sugar on top made them seem dry they said.... so I'd rather add the sweetness in the baking.  I'd like to be able to make just them - instead of having to make brownies for them - and brownies for me..... Can I add more sugar w/o "harming" the recipe? How much would you suggest?

You know what I did? I bought a can of Pillsbury vanilla frosting and "iced" a few of them. They didn't bother my tummy at all. (But I checked the ingredients on the can before I bought it to be sure it didn't have any dairy in it.) I also tried marshmallow fluff on them, but EW -- go for the frosting.

This is MY favorite brownie  and I make them all the time....but for regular folks you may want to try adding some chocolate chips and/or a glaze or canned frosting on top, or even just more sugar in the recipe.
I never thought about them not being sweet enough, and I have a real sweet tooth!!

No icing? Okay, well, here's another idea. What about nuts? Does your family like nuts in their brownies? Pecans are very sweet, and they'd add sweetness to the brownies.
Your idea to let them ice their own is a great idea -- kids will love it.
Gee . . . I'm gettin' hungry for some ADBs!
