Yeah, it takes a while to remember everything! I printed everything out, made a notebook, kept a food journal and took notes about how I felt, etc. It's just relearning how to eat and take care of yourself. I mean, we lived most of our lives probably not worrying about food or our digestive health and when you're young, in college, that's the LAST thing you want to think about. At least, I just wanted to have a good time adn do well in classes! I didn't want to be reading the labels on everything or asking, "Is there dairy in that?" I wanted to party and dance, not sit on a toilet or curled up in bed with a heating pad. But what are you going to do? I couldn't hide or feel sorry for myself (although I did sometimes), so I learned how to deal with it. And it's not easy! In the long run, you'll see that all this work, reading and studying and learning about your IBS, is for the best. You'll feel better, but you'll also be more compassionate toward others who have health issues.
