Anyone have any sucess stories? I am IBS-C (for quite some time now) and am considering trying out YOGA to aleviate my symptoms. I also walk or run, which helps keep my symptoms at bay.

I'm IBS-C too, and I gotta say that I love all the twists and Child Pose. They don't immediately make me un-C, but it feels so good and helps with bloating.
Plus, spending time meditating or relaxing in Corpse Pose really helps with stress.

What are your opinions of pilates? I have a pilates DVD and was wondering if anyone with IBS-C had good experiences. Does it also help with bloating?

and find it very helpful. There are some past posts about this and I think people mention their favorite DVDs. I haven't yet tried this, am just sticking with my yoga, which I definitely love and find super helpful for both IBS and menstrual cramps.

hi, I don't necessarily have IBS, I have a motilty disorder, but lots of IBD symptoms. I had my colon removed 3/04 and I am starting to feel better. I have been taking pilates classes for about 2 mos. and I think it helps tremendously. I strongly urge anyone who can, to investigate by taking at least one class....it really does help!

Pilates is where its at! I have done a 180 since taking that class once a week. Its amazing and I am regular again thanks to that, Citrucel and working out 5-days a week. The more you move the more you go! Doesn't matter if its walking, yoga, pilates or running.. Try it you might love it!

I'm IBS-A (tend to be more C) and I just tried Yogo for the 1st time tonight and loved it!! Tomorrow I plan to take the following class...I'll let you all know how it goes.
PiYo: combines Yoga and mat method based on Pilates to enhance muscle strength and length. Also designed to improve posture, flexibility, & physical awareness. Great for stress reduction! Appropriate for all fitness levels.
