Hi guys! I tried making instant pudding today, and it didn't set up. Was it because I used soy milk?
Anyone else use soy milk in instant pudding?

What brand was the soy milk? I've never had a problem making homemade pudding with soy milk (lots of brands) but I've heard from some folks that Silk soy milk will not set up with instant pudding mixes. I've no idea why...

It was Silk brand! (vanilla flavor)
Glad to know that I'm not such a bad cook that I can't figure out instant pudding! LOL

h2, can we have fat free pudding? Doesn't the mix have milk products in it? I hope we can have it that would be awesome!

Actually, I was making the pudding for my husband, but I don't keep regular milk in the house anymore, so I used my soy milk!
But, looking at the box, I don't see any milk ingredients. Here you go: Jell-O Brand Instant Banana Cream Pudding mix:
sugar, dextrose (from corn) modified food starch, contains less than 2% of natural and artificial flavor, salt, disodium phosphate and tetrasodium phosphate (for thickening), mono- and diglycerides (prevent foaming), yellow 5, yellow 6, artificial color, bha (preservative).
Myself, I prefer Will's Dreamy Lemon Rice Pudding, but the benefit of the Jell-O brand is that it is so fast to make!

Hi - You can actually find pre-packaged soy pudding at health food stores (like little snack packs). Haven't seen instant pudding mix that's soy though.

Silk is the only brand I've heard of that does this. But, I've never tried the instant mixes so I don't have experience here.
Anyone?

I used to always make pudding as a dessert for my husband and I following a big meal. I would make chocolate and add strawberries and whipped cream to the mix.
I used Silk soy brand as well and it doesn't set for me.
Are we able to have skim milk or something?
I have yet to find the snack pack pudding snacks. I am almost 100% sure we don't have those here in Sasky!

Hi - Try any other brand soy milk but Silk. There's something in it that keeps puddings from setting up. Or, try rice milk.
