through the bathroom door!
I got home from work tonight and started dinner - nothing new! But half way through cooking I had to run quickly for the bathroom. I haven't had an attack in a few months, maybe it's stress from work, who knows.
So what do you do with 2 pots cooking away on the stove while you're stuck in the bathroom? Holler instructions to your non-cooking spouse through the door!! 2 more minutes for the pasta and it will be done. (groan from pain) Okay, drain it, don't rinse it! (bit my tongue for a second) Add a little margarine so it won't stick. No, don't need to rinse the pot, just dump the noodles back in. (dig my nails into my palm) Yes, you can turn off the elements.
Nelly would have made it funnier, she has a knack for writing these type of posts.
So, I've learned from this though - if I want to get the DH to learn to cook, I just have to hide in the bathroom and holler instructions through the door!!

actually i'm shocked your husband can't cook pasta! Its the 21st century man! Tell that guy to put on an apron and get into the kitchen! Or just fake stomach aches for a few weeks before dinner time if thats what it takes : ) Hope you're feeling better by now.

Oh Toady,
Those attacks can hit at the most inconvient moments. I think it is a great idea to get dinner started and hid out in the bathroom until hubby learns to cook.
Good luck with that!

Thanks everyone!
I am feeling better today, but my tum was off for 3 days. Ugh. Oh well, can't complain, I've been pretty stable lately.
As for the DH cooking - not likely!! He can make eggs and will barbeque a steak, but things involving planning he doesn't do alot. He has made me kraft dinner one night when I worked really late. And he toasts the best english muffins. He just doesn't have to cook for himself often, so he doesn't cook. If he has to fend for himself, he does just fine, it's just nothing fancy! Oh well, I didn't marry him for his culinary ability. I'd have been in real trouble if I had been making something else for dinner that night!!
