Hi -- I had IBS several years ago and used Heather's Tummy Fiber and diet with great success. I 'had' been free of IBS symptoms for the last few years (without the fiber and diet restrictions). My doctor had also increased my thyroid medicine (Naturethroid) and that seemed to help with the anxiety, etc. I was recently diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer (56 yr old health conscious non smoker!?) and am taking Tarceva (oral targeted cancer drug) which has a common side effect of diarrhea. The doctors recommend Imodium. I bought Heather's Tummy Fiber and will go back to the soluble fiber based diet, along with probiotics. I am wondering if you know, Heather, if drug induced side effects on the gut can be treated the same as for IBS? Thank you!

Hi - as long as your doc signed off on a soluble fiber supplement you should be okay to try the Tummy Fiber. I would assume it would certainly help (hopefully dramatically), but I honestly don't know if it would completely compensate for drug-induced diarrhea. It is definitely worth a shot, and a far better option than the Imodium or other drugs.

Thank you Heather! I have been using the Tummy Fiber for the last week with very good results, with the exception of this morning, so I need to figure out what I ate, or just be more careful going forward. It's been a while since I had to be careful, so I'm out of practice. I had been juicing and eating lots of kale/salads, but now have to cut back on that (a double-edged sword!). Printed out your cheat sheet and will look up some safe recipes on your site! Is juicing safe (carrots/greens) if I add Tummy Fiber to it? I need to eat as healthy as possible right now! Thank you!!
