Dasani water is a disgusting product. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. IT IS NOT SPRING WATER. It is made by a sodapop company and, to the best of my knowledge, it is filtered tap water. It tastes awful. Just one sip makes me nauseated. Even my friends who don't have IBS can't stand it. Please do not recommend this water to anyone, especially those with IBS.
My apologies for being so harsh, but I see this water being sold everywhere and I can't figure out how there could be so many palateless people who can't taste how bad this water is.

This is a matter of opion. What someone else likes and doen't like is there choice. I hate peas but there are so many people on here that love them same thing with other foods but I don' tell them not to eat it. emmasmom ibs-c gas

I don't care for this product either. I was at a work conference, and my only water option was Dasani. I drank about 2 sips and tossed it. It just tasted skanky to me.

I disagree that this is comparable to liking peas or not. Bottled water is a huge environmental drain, and in the case of Dasani (which is owned by Pepsi), it's not even spring water, it's just regular old tap water. The fact that they marketed it as otherwise was a big item in the news a few years back - google it.
Better to just add flavourings like lemon or cucumber to your tap water. Saves on plastic garbage as well.

I so agree with you. The only time I buy bottled is if I am somewhere and don't have my jug with me. And that is rarely.

I never knew this could cause so much attention! I was just happy to fine something that I could finley drink besides water and just hough I would pass it along! If you want to try it its good go for it! If you don't don't thats your choice! I just want people to know that have choices and thats big to some ibs people who don't have that many choices in there meals or drinks. I get tried of drinking just plain water all the time so it makes me happy to think hay I can pick something else up and enjoy this with out getting sick! AND I just wanted to share that with everyone! Have a good day! Emmasmom ibs-c gas

It's OK Emma. It is just a matter of taste. I don't prefer it, but I'm not you, and I don't like the plastics.
Sometimes, I noticed it can get kind of personal, instead of just responding to the post. All is well!

I drink bottled water all the time. I have had Dasani with the flavorings, it's OK. I also drink Propel. It's a matter of taste and tolerance to our IBS. I agree that drinking just plain water can be boring.

If you're referring to Dasani Essence, I discovered it a couple of months ago and really like it. Sometimes I get tired of just plain water, and most flavored waters are full of sugar or artificial sweeteners or other crap.
Plain Dasani, I agree, isn't too pleasant. If I'm going to drink plain water, I'll just drink my filtered tap. But for taste and convenience, the Essence is a nice alternative.
