forgot to put this in my last post... I know milk is supposed to be bad for IBS (I'm allergic to it anyway...) but is goats or sheeps dairy products bad too or is it just cows products that are bad for IBS? Thanks,

Goat and sheep milks still have lactose, so they're still triggers for IBS.

...that there's more about dairy that's a trigger than just the lactose... I'm not remembering right now because it's early, but maybe it's the proteins? Anyway, I'm mentioning this because lactose-free dairy products are still considered unsafe. I know there's a few of us who eat/drink little bits of it, but I would really not recommend it, especially if you're just starting the diet and trying to stabilize.

Hi, Although I have a strong reaction to cows milk (it makes my sinuses inflamed and ears go funny!!) I can tolerate goats bio yoghurt and some goats cheese. I can also have feta which is a mix of sheep and goats, but if I have just sheeps cheese it makes me ill. I have always been careful to mix these with soluble fibre and not eat them in great quantities. I think goats milk has much lower levels of lactose in it than cows milk.
A lot of people have problems with these though, so I would suggest that you wait until you are stable before you try them and then be careful.
Best of luck, Catherine
